Abstract | The presence of peculiar structures as coif, operculum, prosom, opisthosome sometimes repetitive, endo or exo-spora, zygospora is common to Chitinozoa and to some classes of fungi as mainly: Chytridiomycetes, Ascomycetes, Zygomycetes, and Oomycetes. It seems to be legitimate to transfer Chitinozoa in fungi. They will be therefore Chitinomycetes, a clade extinguished since the end of the Devonian. This clade belongs to Chitinophytes if living beings are divided into two reigns, to Chitinobionta if, according to LOCQUIN, organisms having a chitinous external skeleton are put in the Chitinobionta, a third reign. |
