Abstract | The Mississinewa Shale Member of the Wabash Formation (Upper Niagaran) contains a number of chitinozoa species. These are grouped into six genera: Ancyrochitina, two species; Conochitina, four species—one new; Cyathochitina, one species; Desmochitina, two species—one new; Lagenochitina, one species; and Sphaerochitina, two species—one new. Eight localities were examined, with four outcrops and six from drill core. This study aims to use chitinozoa to correlate Silurian formations in Indiana and other parts of the United States. |
