| Abstract | Achab, A., 1978. Sur quelques chitinozoaires de la Formation de Vaureal et de la Formation de Macasty (Ordovicien Supérieur), Ile d'Anticosti, Québec, Canada. (Chitinozoa from the Vaureal Formation and the Macasty Formation (Upper Ordovician), Anticosti Island, Quebec, Canada.) Rev. Palaeobot. Palynol., 25: 295--314. The Vaureal Formation (Upper Ordovician) of Anticosti Island contains three distinct assemblages of chitinozoans. The oldest described in this paper is characterized by Acanthochitina barbata, Kalochitina multispinata, Cyathochitina kuckersiana latipatagium, Conochitina senta, and Hercochitina modesta. This microfauna is distinct from that found in the Macasty Formation and from the assemblages previously described in the upper part of the Vaureal Formation. Three new species, Conochitina senta, Hercochitina modesta, and Cyathochitina macastyensis are described. |
